What's something you're wishing for? Do you have to make lists for relatives each year so they have an idea of what to get you? I do and sometimes it's difficult! I'm kind of picky. I would rather someone not waste their money on something I don't really like but I never want to hurt people's feelings. Sometimes gift cards are the best option.
