outfitting // bare

outfit details

cotton dress // old navy
clutch // asos
wooden necklace // forever 21
silver ring // flea market
sandals // old navy (altered)

I always used to be scared to show my arms. They are just one of the many things I have always been self conscious about. Because of this I have collected more than 20 cardigans. However, with age has come acceptance and I have finally started coming around to liking my body. I'm not there 100% and I'm still trying to lose weight to become healthier, but there is just no point in feeling ashamed of myself. This is me and I'm not going to feel bad about it. Plus, these heat waves we have been experiencing here in Jersey have me looking to put on light cotton clothing to be as comfortable as possible. That, or just putting on my bathing suit and jumping in the pool. Is there any better way to cool off?

outfitting // vertical

Outfit Details
maxi dress // forever 21
chambray shirt // old navy
leaf necklace // target
chain necklace // forever 21
bezel ring // gift (etsy)

I bought this maxi dress about 2 years ago and have barely worn it. It has a tube top and I wanted to wear it with something other than a cardigan so why not a chambray shirt? I pretty much wear them every other day anyways. I love the vertical lines in the pattern of the fabric and the colors. It's very light and flowy and perfect for those sweltering hot summer days, especially when you forget to shave your legs, amiright?

I didn't put the details of the shoes because you can't see them. I could have been wearing curly toed elf shoes for all you know.

PS. Yesterday was our court day and it went off pretty smoothly. Next court date's in February. It's a long process but things are looking up!

outfitting // goofing in boots

long sleeve t-shirt // old navy
floral dress // alloy
ankle cowboy boots // aldo
stud earrings // forever 21
friendship bracelet // gift from Sarah at camp & quarry

One of the most important tricks I've learned from reading other bloggers outfit posts is layering. Layering not only means putting on a scarf or jacket, which is what I thought it was limited too. It can also mean using a dress as a skirt by throwing a top on over it. This let's you change up the way you wear the clothes you already own and love.

This red floral dress is one of my favorites. It's perfect for spring and summer as it can be dressed up or down and is super light weight. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure I flashed an entire Best Buy parking lot when I wore this on a windy day.

Note to self: Wear shorts underneath.

outfitting // spring comfort

Hat // Forever 21, Shirt & Cardigan // Old Navy, Jeans // Alloy, Shoes // Altered from Old Navy, Lipstick // Maybelline Moisture Extreme in Royal Red

This is my very first outfit post and while I have been considering posting one for a long time, I finally managed the courage to do so. I read and enjoy a lot of blogs of girls who post their outfits but I thought that there lacked a little diversity. My outfit posts will focus on plus size fashion on a budget. I obviously need to get better at taking full length pictures and including little details, but are there any tips you can give me regarding outfit posts? Any comments would be appreciated!
